We will be joining other advocates in Andover representing patients and educating the public about cannabis and their legislative representatives in Topeka. We will have a vendor table and will be walking in the parade. Come on over to our Facebook page for more information.
Next Event Coming Soon
KCC will be at CSB in Wichita! We know CSB has the BEST bingo and beer in town. If you have cannabis questions, we have answers. In just a little over 4 months the legislative session will begin, and we need your support. Come play a game of bingo, enjoy a brew and drop off a donation to support our lobbying efforts. Can't make it and want to donate? Use the donate button on the home page. Please click the Facebook link below to like and share the event when we post the date and time. We hope to see you there!
Amy, a past president of Kansas Cannabis Coalition was a driving force leading the organization from its inception through the first 2 years. What makes Amy such a successful leader? We asked her a few questions.
Tell me what drove you to get involved in advocating for medical cannabis?
I have an Aunt that I was very close to. She was terminally ill and using cannabis dramatically
changed the final days of her life. She went front being in extreme pain, nauseous, and very
anxious to her old self. She was able to tell stories, enjoy meals, and relax again. It’s in her
honor that I continue to fight for Kansas’ patients right to plant medicine.
What’s your “day job”?
I manage a team of sales professionals who sell radiology equipment in the Midwest. I am also
a Registered Nurse who has extensive training on cannabis as medicine. My business partner,
Cheryl Kumberg, and I own Green Healing Solutions (GHS). GHS provides nurse navigators to
assist patients in their journey of using cannabis to treat their conditions. We also provide
educational seminars for medical professionals.
In your eyes, what would the perfect medical cannabis program look like for Kansas?
Oh my…it would include SO many things! In general, I’d love a program that provides
affordable safe medicine for everyone. It would also expunge crimes and get good people out
of prison. An equity piece would be nice also to pay back the wrongs of society when
prohibition originated.
What do you see as our biggest obstacles in getting legislation passed?
Ty Masterson, Senate President, is our biggest hurdle. We also have a super-majority of ultra-
conservative Republican Senators who refuse to become educated on cannabis.
Any advice for the Kansas Cannabis Coalition or other cannabis advocates?
DON’T GIVE UP!!!! WE NEED YOU!!!!
Thank you!!
Together we can make things happen. Together we can educate others about cannabis using science and data. Facts speak for themselves. Cannabis patients are reclaiming health, using less pharmaceuticals, and returning to work. Cannabis is more than THC the ONE and only cannabinoid lawmakers focus on. Join us today!
