Kansas Cannabis Coalition will continue representing Kansans who need access to medical cannabis at the Statehouse in Topeka. Kansas is now completely surrounded by states with legal access. We need your continued support during this upcoming session.
Ways to support KCC:
KCCC is asking the courts to stay arrests of Kansas citizens and raids of Kansas businesses for cannabis products. Please support this strategy to modernize Kansas cannabis laws and rule on reasonable reforms that protect Kansas citizens and small business owners.
The Kansas Cannabis Chamber of Commerce (KCCC) is leading efforts to upend Kansas’ current position on cannabis. The KCCC is challenging the status quo in court, arguing for an injunction and other relief that halts illegal raids and arrests until the Kansas government passes comprehensive reform.
Every day, Kansans reach out to KCCC with stories of heartbreak. Their rights to live and conduct business without the fear of illegal searches and seizures have been trampled. Livelihoods and liberties are at stake.
Please consider contributing to this effort by donating to KCCC through GoFundMe. Watch for updates as the process unfolds on this platform as well.
Amy, a past president of Kansas Cannabis Coalition was a driving force leading the organization from its inception through the first 2 years. What makes Amy such a successful leader? We asked her a few questions.
Tell me what drove you to get involved in advocating for medical cannabis?
I have an Aunt that I was very close to. She was terminally ill and using cannabis dramatically
changed the final days of her life. She went front being in extreme pain, nauseous, and very
anxious to her old self. She was able to tell stories, enjoy meals, and relax again. It’s in her
honor that I continue to fight for Kansas’ patients right to plant medicine.
What’s your “day job”?
I manage a team of sales professionals who sell radiology equipment in the Midwest. I am also
a Registered Nurse who has extensive training on cannabis as medicine. My business partner,
Cheryl Kumberg, and I own Green Healing Solutions (GHS). GHS provides nurse navigators to
assist patients in their journey of using cannabis to treat their conditions. We also provide
educational seminars for medical professionals.
In your eyes, what would the perfect medical cannabis program look like for Kansas?
Oh my…it would include SO many things! In general, I’d love a program that provides
affordable safe medicine for everyone. It would also expunge crimes and get good people out
of prison. An equity piece would be nice also to pay back the wrongs of society when
prohibition originated.
What do you see as our biggest obstacles in getting legislation passed?
Ty Masterson, Senate President, is our biggest hurdle. We also have a super-majority of ultra-
conservative Republican Senators who refuse to become educated on cannabis.
Any advice for the Kansas Cannabis Coalition or other cannabis advocates?
DON’T GIVE UP!!!! WE NEED YOU!!!!
Thank you!!
